"Batman: Arkham City" and "Batman: Arkham Asylum", the predecessors of the popular Rocksteady Studios game "Batman: Arkham Knight," are rumored to be coming to PS4 and Xbox One anytime this year.

Unseen64 contributor, Liam Robertson, revealed in a Youtube video that his unnamed sources at Warner Bros. Interactive that they are remastering a collection that includes the first two games of the famous trilogy.

This latest rumor augments a report from IGN Italy last year that "Batman: Arkham City" and "Batman: Arkham Asylum" are undergoing some major touch-up that will make them compatible to current-generation consoles. Robertson's anonymous insider also revealed that the remasters could be released as early as summer this year.

Unfortunately, there are no words yet whether or not the "Batman: Arkham Origins" will also be part of the collection. This action-adventure video game was developed by Warner Bros. Games Montréal and was first released in 2013 by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for Microsoft Windows and the PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360 video game consoles.

Robertson said some interesting arguments as to why video gamers should be optimistic about the validity of this rumor. It must be noted that last year, many XBox 360 titles have become playable on the XBox One, except for the "Batman: Arkham" games. Although they are on the top of gamers' request, Warner Bros. seemed to ignore the clamor. This could be because the remasters of the collection will be soon available, Robertson observed.

In other news, "Batman: Arkham Knight" has just recently been cancelled for Mac and Linux, confirmed by an announcement on Steam. "We are very sorry to confirm that 'Batman: Arkham Knight' will no longer be coming to Mac and Linux. If you have pre-ordered 'Batman: Arkham Knight' for Mac or Linux, please apply for a refund via Steam," read the statement.
