'Chicago Med' season 2 episode 5 spoilers: Car crash brings tragic story to small screens

Fans will be shocked to see a tragic storyline in the upcoming episode of "Chicago Med."

In the show's last episode, viewers were introduced to Dr. Charles' daughter, Robin, who is an epidemiologist. She helped Dr. Manning, who is played by Torrey DeVitto, investigate several cases of a rare infection and the two worked together to prevent an epidemic from occurring.

In the next episode of "Chicago Med" season two, it was revealed that it will still be a very busy one for the doctors. According to the synopsis, in the episode titled "Extreme Measures," the team will have to deal with a car crash that took place.

The source explained that a medical team will have to head to the Chicago Marathon in order to attend to the victim of a car crash. The team is made up of Dr. Halstead, played by Nick Gehlfuss; April, played by Yaya DaCosta; and Noah, played by Roland Buck III. Once there, they realize that they will have to perform a complicated procedure in order to save the patient, even if they're out in the field.

However, they will not be the only ones busy in the episode ahead. It was stated that Dr. Choi, who is played by Brian Tee, will also have another matter to address. He will worry and look after Olga, played by Betty Buckley, who is suffering from malnutrition. With that, he will work with Dr. Charles, played by Oliver Platt, in order to remedy the situation.

The episode will also see Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) trying to figure out how to take control of her personal life. In the meantime, Dr. Manning will also be looking after an 8-year-old patient who suddenly loses her sense of hearing.

"Chicago Med" season 2 episode 5 is scheduled to air on Thursday, Oct. 20 on NBC.
