"Dragon Ball Z" Revival of F, which debuted in Japan on April 18, 2015, received a solid reception from both moviegoers and critics alike. The movie has been critically acclaimed, garnering a 9.1 star on IMBD's 10 star scale. "Revival of F" is the second movie to be supervised by "Dragon Ball" creator, Akira Toriyama, and is the fifteenth film in the series. "Revival of F" followed the 2013 release of "Battle of Gods", the first Dragon Ball movie in which Toriyama has been heavily involved.

The massive success of "Dragon Ball Z" Revival of F, which is the first movie to be released in 3D IMAX Digital Theaters, has been completely unprecedented, particularly considering that its opening day coincided with the premiere of Fast and Furious 7. Nonetheless, the movie opened at number one in the box office, making Japan the only country in which the Vin Diesel movie lagged second.

The popularity of the movie is said to be attributed to the reintroduction of familiar characters that most movie-goers grew up with. Central to the plot is the resurrection of the infamous "Dragon Ball" villain, Frieza.

The fifteenth installation of the "Dragon Ball" series also features mainstays like Son Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan forms. Supporting characters like Piccolo and son Gohan are also in the movie.

Outside Japan, the movie has been met with average success and has been screened in various countries including Hong Kong, Brazil, Chile and Venezuela.

While a Japanese subtitled version of the movie was screened on April 11 in the Grauman's Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, there have been rumors of a widespread, nationwide release surfacing online. A report by Anime News Network, an anime insider website, however has confirmed that the movie will not only be screened across North America in summer 2015, but also in 73 other countries worldwide.
