DROID Maxx 2 vs iPhone 6s: Apple device is more stylish; rival is more affordable

The is a new budget priced smartphone from Motorola the DROID Maxx 2 and it is destined to provide a good amount of competition to the iPhone 6s this year-- and this is how these two devices fare in a comparison.

Design

Metal is only present on the frame of the DROID Maxx 2 while the back panel is made from default Soft Grip which is available in a variety of colors. The frame of the device is either available in deep blue or white; however, there is no fingerprint scanner on the device which is present on the iPhone 6s and incorporated into its home button. As for the iPhone 6s its metal body is made from 7000 series aluminum which makes it resistant to bending, and its edges are curved giving it a good feel in hand. Its design is also much more appealing compared to the DROID Maxx 2 and it comes in four colors: gold, silver, space gray and rose gold.

Display

Here, the advantage is with the DROID Maxx 2 as it has a bigger and better quality LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 403 pixels per inch. Compared to this, the iPhone 6s is differentiated by the Force Touch technology in its display which can sense the amount of pressure being applied on it, however the LCD only measures 4.7 inches and has a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and density of 326 pixels per inch.

Specs

In this category, the iPhone 6s is faster as it has the Apple A9 chipset, coupled with a dual core CPU and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU. As for the DROID Maxx 2, it has an older Snapdragon 615 chipset, coupled with an octa-core CPU and an Adreno 405 GPU.

Memory

There is no emery slot on the iPhone 6s and so storage cannot be expanded. As for the DROID Maxx 2, it supports up to 128 GB. When it comes to RAM however both device are equal as each has 2 GB.

Price

The iPhone 6s costs $199 with a two year contract, while the DROID Maxx 2 costs $384 in its unlocked form.
