The Final Fantasy 15 release date is due early next year, but circle of controversies has already surrounded one of the top selling video game franchises in gaming history.

Recently, Director Hajime Tabata addressed a gender bias issue following the game's revelation of an all-male cast.

"The party members being all men was something that [former director] Tetsuya Nomura had kept as a very important element of this journey. He wanted to depict a story in which a group of men, a group of friends, journey throughout the world. So that's something that I kept in Final Fantasy XV," Tabata said.

Speaking of Nomura, the original director has stepped down to pursue different projects other than Final Fantasy.

The development of the latest Final Fantasy game has been going on for quite awhile now.

For the first time, Square Enix provided figures on the progress of game-making.

"It's about 55 percent complete, but the quality of the demo itself, compared to the final product, is about 80 percent," Tabata told the audience during the TGS 2014.

Tabata has also teased fans with a projected lengthy demo that is coming soon.

"If you play through the story campaign, it should be about an hour of gameplay," Tabata said.

He added, "But, that being said, there's also the world map and there are different monsters that appear, as well as dungeons. So it should allow for 3-4 hours of gameplay."

Sony has also confirmed that there is a Final Fantasy 15 demo scheduled for release on the PS4 soon.

"I am very pleased to let you guys know that you will soon be able to play a demo of Final Fantasy XV on PS4 in your own home," Sony said in a statement.
