It's no surprise that the popular point-and-click horror game "Five Nights at Freddy's" is getting a movie adaptation. At this point, plot details and the projected release date have not been announced. However, Gil Kenan, who will take charge of directing the movie, has been generous enough to provide updates to fans of the franchise

Last month, Kenan posted a photo on Twitter of what fans believe is an animatronic head to be used in the film. While Kenan only wrote the caption, "Watch that thumb," and nothing FNAF-related, fans are quick to speculate that his post had something to do with the movie.

Christian Today noted that one of the most popular elements in the game is the "Bite of '87," a story in which an animatronics bit a child's head. However, Kenan posted a photo of a human animatronics and in the franchise, all of them are from animal mascots. Kenan's post suggests that there will be different animatronics employed in the film. Then again, it could be something else not related to "FNAF."

At this point, nothing has been set on stone, but Kenan was determined to make a movie that will stay true to its roots. Scott Cawthon, creator of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise, is believed to also be involved in the project to make sure that the film retains the franchise's credibility.

Kenan also mentioned in his Twitter account in July last year that the movie will focus on bringing full-size animatronics, instead of CGI, that should give some authenticity to the film.

"I want this to be crazy practical - that's what makes animatronics so unnerving - they're REAL," Kenan wrote as a response to a fan question.

As of now, there's no official release date for the movie, but rumors are rife that this film will arrive sometime this year. Fans will just have to wait for more updates.
