Last year's Nexus 6 might have been a disappointment to many who prefer devices from Google, but this year, Motorola proves that they have improved on their devices, especially with their recently released, Moto X Style. Here is how the Nexus 6 compares to the current flagship from Motorola.

Design

The Nexus 6 is manufactured by Motorola which is why it has a similar metal frame and uses plastic on its front and back panels. However, it only comes in two colors, blue and white and cannot be customized. As for the Moto X Style, it also has a metal frame but users can choose from the different colors available on the Moto Maker site. Aside from that, users get to pick from a wide range of colors for the metal accents and lenses, as well as choose their own back panel, which are available in wood, leather and silicone.

Display

When it comes to the display of these two devices, the Nexus 6 has a bigger version but its resolution is similar to that of its competitor. It has an AMOLED capacitive screen measuring 5.96 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 493 pixels per inch. As for the Moto X Style, it has a 5.7-inch capacitive screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 520 pixels per inch.

Specs

The hardware in the Nexus 6 is inferior to that in the Moto X Style, as it was released last year. The new Moto X Style comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, a hexa-core CPU with two cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and four clocked at 1.44 GHz along with an Adreno 418 GPU. As for the Nexus 6, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a Krait 450 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU.

Memory

There is no memory slot on the Nexus 6 while the version on the Moto X Style can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. As for RAM, the Nexus 6 and the Moto X Style are similar and both have 3 GB.

Camera

There is a 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization on the Nexus 6 while the Moto X Style has a 21 megapixel version without OIS.

Price

The price of the Nexus 6 has dropped and it can now be bought at $149 with a two-year contract. The unlocked Pure Edition of the Moto X Style, on the other hand, costs $399.
