"Grey's Anatomy" guest star Marika Dominczyk admits being aware but not being bothered by her strange position in the series. The actress recently talked to TV Line about her experience as Eliza Minnick, who is now being loathed by "Calzona" shippers because of her villainy.

Recent events in the series hint that Minnick might soon fill a romantic void in the life of Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). During the interview, Dominczyk jokingly said she finds "Calzona" fans crazy for hating her, but she does appreciate their passion. In the series, "Calzona" refers to the love team of Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona.

"Calzona' fans are crazy. I really appreciate their passion. I think it's amazing. The shows been on the air for 13 years and has an incredible fan base. And I'm so happy to be a part of it, even if it's on the [negative] receiving end," she said.

At this point in the series, it is clear that Eliza has feelings for Arizona, but it remains to be seen if she will take the place of Callie in her heart. In a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dominiczyk said her character feels that there's hope for a relationship with her, and that is part of why the doctors who wide with Dr. Richard (James Pickens Jr.) don't like her.

According to her, people around her character do not get that Eliza is the kind of woman who believes that she can separate work from her personal life. "When she's not at work, she's just who she is and likes who she likes, but not everybody operates that way; not everybody can separate the two. Eliza is the kind of character that believes that she can separate the two, so it's no big deal," she said.

Asked if she is finding allies at the hospital, the actress said as of now, she only has Arizona and Edward (Jerrika Hinton) on her side. She said it is hard trying to get people to like her because not many of them want to learn and progress. Dominiczyk added that compared with the likes of Richard, those who want to learn are more open when it comes to her.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
