'High School Musical 4' release date of TV movie still uncertain; Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens to reprise their roles

(Facebook/High School Musical)Is there a possibility for the once real and reel life couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens to reunite in "High School Musical 4?"

Although there is no official word from the Disney Channel yet, it seems that there is no chance for "High School Musical 4" to arrive this year and will be aired in 2017 instead. However, more than the arrival date of the said TV movie, fans are excitedly awaiting the confirmation on whether "High School Musical" original stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will return to reprise their roles as Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez, respectively.

Although "High School Musical 4" was announced back in March, there has been no official confirmation from Disney Channel yet as to when the TV movie musical will be aired. While many fans thought that it would be released within this year, there are various speculations as to when exactly it will arrive, with some reports saying it will arrive in 2018, while IMDb lists it for a 2017 release.

However, there is no denying that apart from the release date of "High School Musical 4," fans are just as curious on whether Efron and Hudgens will reprise the roles in the said TV special that paved the way for them to attain their status in Hollywood today. Although it is rumored that the once real and reel life partners will join the cast for a limited exposure, there is no official statement that can confirm it at this point in time.

Although it is believed that Efron and Hudgens called their relationship off amicably back in 2010, which means they have no problems working with each other, there are rumors claiming that one thing that prevents the two from having an onscreen reunion is the current flame of Hudgens, Austin Butler, who is said to be preventing the actress from having any form of contact with her ex-love.

In the event that Butler doesn't really want Hudgens to communicate with Efron, it is suggested that the two be featured as non-communicating ex-lovers in "High School Musical 4" and act as coaches to the new breed of Wildcats.

Nonetheless, even if they are to communicate, Efron and Hudgens are advised to maintain their professionalism, which includes putting aside their personal emotions, even after the cameras have stopped grinding for their scenes.
