HTC One M8 is regarded as one of the best Android smartphones ever made, and fans of the model are already anticipating the successor of the flagship smartphone, the HTC One M9.

While there is currently very little known about HTC One M9, rumors surrounding the device are quickly spreading.

According to recent reports, the next big mobile launch for HTC is scheduled to take place in March, 2015. This aligns with the release date (March 25, 2014) of its predecessor.

Moreover, if rumors are accurate, HTC One M9 is going to be a powerhouse that can compete with the existing high-end smartphones in the market today.

Tech Radar reports that the future HTC flagship will sport QHD display, Snapdragon 805 chipset, 3 GB RAM and a waterproof body.

Trusted Reviews noted that it will boast a stunning 2560 x 1440 resolution display that will stretch over a 5.2-inch screen.

HTC One M8 has consistently received accolades and praise from tech pundits, but ultimately failed to connect to consumers. This is where LG got ahead of the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer.

LG G3, which is dubbed as HTC One M8's main antagonist, did well both in reviews and in the consumer market.

HTC's weak smartphone sales were compensated by cost-cutting measures implemented by the company. This has resulted in a better profit output for the third quarter of the current year.

If HTC wants to catch up with the ever-expanding mobile market, the next flagship need to impress both experts and the public. Else, they will keep lagging behind the bigger brands, and perhaps, the emerging giant from China – Xiaomi.
