Huawei Watch vs Moto 360 2: Huawei Watch is prettier but is it worth the price?

The Huawei Watch and the Moto 360 2 are two of the prettiest Android Wear smartwatches and very often they are pitted against each other in a comparison, where it is apparent that both devices are quite similar in terms of hardware.

Design

Comparing design, it is evident that these smartwatches have been inspired by traditional watches, and each has a round body crafted from stainless steel. In terms of colors, the Huawei Watch comes in three versions rose gold, black and gold and it is paired with stainless steel straps of the same color or leather straps. When it comes to water and dust proofing the device has an IP67 certification and so can be used in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.

The Moto 360 2 on the other hand has two models a smaller 42mm model for women and men, and a bigger 46mm model for men. The stainless steel body of the device comes in four colors-- gold, silver, black and rose gold and there are stainless steel and leather straps on offer. As for its water and dust proof rating it has an IP67 certification and so has the same properties as its competitor.

Both these devices run Android Wear and are among smartwatches which are compatible with Android and iOS devices.

Display

There is an LCD display on the Moto 360 2, and its smaller model has a 1.37 inch version and a resolution of 360 X 325 pixels and density of 263 pixels per inch. As for its bigger model for men it has a 1.56 inch display with a resolution of 360 X 330 pixels and density of 233 pixels per inch. Coming to the Huawei Watch it comes with an AMOLED display measuring 1.4 inch inches and a resolution of 400x400 pixels and density of 286 pixels per inch. Finally, the display on the Moto 360 2 is not fully round and its base has a black portion where the sensors placed.

Specs

When it comes to hardware the Moto 360 2 and the Huawei Watch are equal as onboard each of these devices is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset that is clocked at 1.2 GHz along with 4GB storage and 512MB RAM.

Sensors

Onboard the Moto 360 2 is a gyroscope, haptics engine, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and a heart rate monitor while its competitor has a 6-Axis motion sensor with, accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate sensor and barometer.

Price

The Moto 360 2 has a starting price of $299.99 and then prices can extend up to $429.99 while the Huawei Watch has a price tag of $350.
