Last year, Apple dominated the smartphone market with their iPhone 6 Plus and it is hoping to replicate its success with their new iPhone 6s Plus. However, to do that, it has to take on other impressive phablets, including the LG G Flex 2. Here is how these similar-sized devices compare.

Design

The G Flex 2 is the second curved phone created by LG. However, due to its design, the body and its screen are made entirely of plastic. Its back panel is coated with a special self healing material that can cause minor scratches to disappear within 10 seconds. It is available in only two colors, silver and red. It also does not come with a fingerprint scanner. The iPhone 6s Plus has a full metal body made of 7000 series aluminum alloy. It has curved edges that give the device a good look and feel. As for colors, the device has four options, space gray, rose gold, gold and silver. Unlike its competitor, it has a fingerprint scanner integrated into its home button.

Display

The iPhone 6s Plus has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch. It also has 3D touch pressure sensing technology which operates along with the software onboard to sense whether the user is pressing down hard on the screen. As for the G Flex 2, it has a curved P-OLED screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 403 pixels per inch.

Specs

There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset in the G Flex 2 and it is coupled with an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz along with an Adreno 430 GPU. The iPhone 6s Plus, on the other hand, has a an Apple A9 chipset and a dual core CPU clocked at 2 GHz. Given the hardware in both the devices, they are among the fastest smartphones released this year.

Memory

There is no memory slot on the iPhone 6s Plus, therefore, external storage cannot be added. The G Flex 2, however, comes with a memory slot that supports up to 128 GB. As for their RAM, the LG G Flex 2 with 16 GB onboard has 2 GB, while its 32 GB model has 3 GB. The iPhone 6s Plus, however, is expected to have 2 GB of RAM.

Price

The LG G Flex 2 and the iPhone 6s Plus cost $299 with a two-year contract.
