With the iPhone 6s recently unveiled by Apple, other similar-sized devices have started upping up their game, and one of them is the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. Here is how these two smartphones compare in a faceoff.

Design

The iPhone 6s is undoubtedly one of the best designed devices in the market. It comes with a full metal body crafted from 7000 series aluminum alloy, which makes it stronger and less prone to bending. However, the device simply looks like last year's model. It comes with a fingerprint scanner and has four color options, gray, rose gold, silver and gold. The Z5 Compact, on the other hand, only has metal on its frame and its front and back feature frosted glass. It also has a fingerprint scanner integrated into its power button located at its side. It comes in four colors, coral, yellow, white and black. Finally the device from Sony is waterproof and dustproof with an IP68 rating but the manufacturer has warned users not to submerge it in water.

Display

When it comes to display, these two devices have almost similar versions. The Z5 Compact has a 4.6-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a density of 323 pixels per inch while the iPhone 6s has a 4.7-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch. However, the device from Apple has 3D Touch, which can sense whether the user is pressing down hard with their fingers or using a softer touch.

Specs

When it comes to specs, the only information available about the iPhone points toward it having an A9 chipset. The Z5 Compact, however, has the latest chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 810, coupled with an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz along with an Adreno 430 GPU.

Memory

Just like other devices from Apple, the iPhone 6s does not have a memory slot. The version on the Z5 Compact, however, can be used to add up to 200 GB of external storage. As for their RAM, each has 2 GB.

Camera

The camera on the Z5 Compact is one of the best available in smartphones. It is a 23-megapixel version with video stabilization, and hybrid autofocus which can take pictures within just 0.03 seconds. As for the iPhone 6s, it has a 12-megapixel version with dual LED flash. It also has the ability to record 4K videos.

Price

The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact's official price has yet to be revealed but it is expected to cost around $650 without a contract. As for the iPhone 6s, it is priced at $199 with a two-year contract.
