iPod Touch 6th generation release date, news and rumors: latest media player will be launched together with new iPhone in September

Three years after Apple launched the current model of the iPod Touch in September 2012, followed by a number of changes and improvements over the years, fans have been desperately waiting for the launch of the sixth-gen iPod Touch with further upgrades. There has been no announcement of the 'iPod Touch 6th Gen' at the ongoing Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2015 at San Francisco, California, but Apple fans still continue to expect the device to be unveiled on the last day of the event. However, the latest reports now claim that Apple is still developing the iPod Touch 6th Generation and will start selling it this fall, alongside the new iPhone at a price of $250 and $300 per unit, depending upon the variant.

Apple fans still continue to keep hopes alive for the launch of the sixth-gen iPod Touch, fuelling rumors and speculations about the device. The latest rumors suggest that the sixth-gen iPod Touch will be available in two variants - a 4.7-inch model and a 5.7-inch one. The next iPod Touch 6th Generation will be powered by an A5 processor and run on Apple's latest iOS 9 operating system. The iPod Touch 6G will also be re-quipped with an improved camera and Retina display for better resolution.

It is also rumored that the iPod Touch 6G will come with improved security features, including Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and enhanced battery life. The device will be compatible with the Apple Watch and will also be water resistant. The iPod Touch 6G is also expected to be available in 32 GB and 64 GB versions, and come in a variety of colors, such as including pink, yellow, orange, green blue, silver and space gray with a rumored special edition gold.

Apple is rumored to release the iPod Touch 6G alongside the new iPhone, which is expected to be launched on September 25, 2015, according to a recently leaked internal email from Vodafone. If both the rumors are indeed true, then Apple fans will be able to get their hands on the next generation iPod Touch and iPhone on the same day.
