People are still talking about what awaits Robert Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man" movie franchise. Some rumors say fans have to wait for four years before the movie's fourth installation, while others say that a fourth movie will not be happening.

Since Downey Jr. is busy playing Iron Man in upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films, "Iron Man 4's" release date would have to be in 2020, as estimated by Earn the Necklace. While he still gets to wear the suit and claim throne to the hero's title because of "Captain America: Civil War" and "The Avengers: Infinity War" part I and part II, it would take some time before he gets to shoot a movie with him in the titular role.

"Captain America: Civil War" is due to hit theaters in May, and although it picks up where the last movie ended, Iron Man and some other Avengers will figure largely in the film. Steve and Tony have always been in some kind of conflict not just with their attack strategies but on how they view people and society as well. In "Civil War," they will get in each other's nerves with differing opinions on the government's proposal. Things hit up even more with Steve's childhood friend in the picture. Tony sees him as an enemy, while Steve believes he has his friend back.

In "The Avengers: Infinity War," the team of heroes will go against the ultimate villain Thanos and will be shown in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Since no official announcement has been made regarding the fourth "Iron Man," the two-part installation, other news claim that it would be Downey's last time to play the billionaire hero.

Master Herald reported that Downey Jr. said that the fourth installation to his solo-movie is not on Marvel Studio's plans and that when the Avengers movie begins production, all other stand-alone films won't be happening.

Fans should definitely not say good-bye to Downey's "Iron Man" yet as he will be busy donning the suit for the years to come.
