In the phablet market, the iPhone 6 Plus has proven to be very popular but when it comes to speed and features the device from Apple faces a tough fight from LG G4 which is faster and has a better camera.

Design

Many think that the 6 Plus has an edge over the competition because of its aluminium unibody and beautifully rounded corners but the G4 since its release has proved that premium design can come in plastic. It has a plastic body with a subtle curve extending from top to bottom which is dubbed the "SlimArc" and it's back panel features textured polycarbonate in three colors gold, grey and white ceramic. There are also leather back panels dyed in natural colors available for the device and these can be switched out with the default panels. As for the 6 Plus it is basically a bigger version of the iPhone 6 and hence is tougher to hold and use while the G4 poses no such problem.

Display

The G4 sports a superior quality display that is sharper. It comes with a IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch. As for the 6 Plus it also has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches but it has a lower resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 401 pixels per inch.

Specs

When it comes to a comparison of specs, the G4 comes out ahead as it is faster. The G4 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, along with a hexa-core CPU with two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and an Adreno 418 GPU. The 6 Plus has an Apple A8 chipset, along with a dual-core CPU clocked at1.4 GHz and a PowerVR GX6450 GPU.

Memory

The 6 Plus is at a disadvantage here as it does not have a memory slot while the G4 has one that allows for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. In terms of RAM, the G4 has 3 GB while the 6 Plus has 1 GB.

Camera

The camera on the G4 has improved considerably and is now a 16 megapixel shooter with optical image stabilization and it handily beats the 8 megapixel version present on the 6 Plus which also has optical image stabilization.

Price

The LG G4 is priced at $199 with a two year contract while the 16 GB iPhone 6 Plus costs $299 with a similar contract.
