LG G5 rumors, specs and release date: handset rumored to come with an iris scanner

The rumors and theories about the specs of the next iteration LG G smartphone are no doubt outstanding. Based on the circulating rumors, this handset has already surpassed its predecessor, the LG G4, in many aspects. Moreover, if the specs do turn out to be accurate, the G5 could also have the potential to dominate the smartphone market, as well as go head-to-head with the biggest smartphone manufacturers today, specifically Apple and Samsung.

One of the most innovative features of this handset, albeit still in the speculation field, is the iris scanner, according to the report by VC Post. This new technology is pretty uncommon among smartphones, as there are only a couple phones that have this kind of feature. The available or confirmed devices today that feature an iris scanner are the Chinese brand phone, Vivo X5 Pro and the Japanese-made phone, Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G, as stated on Tech Times.

However, in terms of competition, so far the only company that has been mentioned to include this kind of tech in their handset is Samsung. The South Korean company will reportedly include the impressive feature in their upcoming phone, Samsung Galaxy S7.

Of course, to make it more outstanding, the specs of the LG G5 should also be at par with the current smartphones today.

In Christian Today's report earlier this month, the LG G5 is rumored to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. The memory capacity of this phone was also rumored to come in three variations, 16 GB, 32 GB and the biggest one, 64 GB. The storage capacity will also be expandable via MicroSD for up to 128 GB.

As for the display, the LG G5 is expected to sport a 5.6-inch screen size, which has 4K screen. Other specs include a much bigger battery life of 4,000mAh, 5.1 MP and 20 MP front and rear camera, which will reportedly come with 3D features.

The expected release date of the handset is said to be next year, March 2016.

Some might find the rumored specs to be too good to be true. So for now, fans are advised to avoid jumping into conclusions and wait for the official announcement of LG.
