Netflix has finally announced that "Longmire" has been renewed for season five.

Avid fans of the show collectively known as "The Longmire Posse" have spent the past few months rallying hard for their beloved show and keeping it alive on social media. Passionate fans of the Western crime drama have been relentless in their support for the show and their valiant efforts have finally paid off.

The renewal announcement from the streaming service came last Friday on the Official Facebook Page of the show. "We've never been one to back down from a fight. 'Longmire' will return to Netflix for Season five," the announcement said.

"Longmire" is set to return to Netflix next season with 10 more episodes. It seems that the show has finally found a new home. "Longmire" aired on A&E for three seasons before the network decided to cancel it despite high ratings. Thankfully, the show was picked up by Netflix.

The fourth season focused on Walt's hunt for his wife's killer. Though Deputy Branch was fired for his erratic behavior, he was coming close to discovering who the killer was. Unfortunately, he was murdered before he could find out the truth. The recently concluded fourth season also saw Walt struggling with guilt and confusion over Branch's death.

The final episode of the season left viewers hanging as it ended in a cliffhanger. Henry was handcuffed by tribal police officer Mathias. On the other hand, Walt was at home with his new partner Donna. They are interrupted when someone crashes through their front door.

Now, Walt's fate is left unknown. Given how the season had progressed, Walt has gained quite a number of enemies. Viewers will have to wait for a while to see who the culprit is.

Now the show has been renewed, viewers are now shifting their attention towards possible spoilers for the upcoming season. Unfortunately, Netflix has yet to announce the release date for season five of "Longmire."
