'Longmire' season 5 spoilers: Will Walt drop Donna and pursue Vic?

(Facebook/LongmireTV)Walt will soon say goodbye to Donna in "Longmire" season 5.

Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) may be with Donna Monaghan (Ally Walker) now, but he will soon have a change of heart and fall in love with his young partner Vic Moretti (Kate Sackhoff) in "Longmire" season 5.

For fans of the series, it had been a relief to see the protagonist move on from his dead wife with the beautiful doctor's help. Last installment, their relationship considerably improved for the better. Walt obviously cares about Donna and vice versa, but avid fans of the Craig Johnson novel know that their love is not meant to be. Walt is destined to fall in love with Vic and the upcoming season is said to be the start of the change in their relationship.

In the event that the series stays true to the novel, Walt and Vic's age gap, of course, will be a hot topic for discussion among viewers. According to Christian Examiner, some have already expressed concerned that Walt is too old for her. Vic is also said to be too immature for Walt. With how the storyline has been progressing, many think that it would be too early to change the two characters' dynamics for season 5. So far, they act as work buddies with little to no hint of attraction.

If ever the showrunners will introduce their love story soon, something earth-shattering must happen that will push the two together.

It also remains a mystery on how long Walker will be staying in the series. The events during the finale indicate that her character will still continue on, especially with the arrival of her son. Walt and Vic caught a teenager trying to break into Donna's house. Just Jared Jr. has confirmed the news that Sterling Beaumon has been tapped to play Andrew Price, a "smart a** prep school kid," who will claim he is Donna's lost child.

"Longmire" season 5 is rumored to premiere this September on Netflix.
