'Marco Polo' season 3 release date, news, rumors: John Fusco working on the script?

(Facebook/Marco Polo)Is John Fusco further hinting about the show's return?

Netflix continues to give "Marco Polo" fans the silent treatment, and up to now, there is no news regarding the show's return for its third season. However, series creator John Fusco continues to post about the series on social media.

While Fusco is careful not to give any bit of big news away, he recently uploaded a photo of his Labrador-Retriever on Twitter, revealing that his dog has finally experienced his first snow. While there is nothing about "Marco Polo" season 3 on the said post, he did tag Leonard Wu and even included "#amwriting" on the post.

For starters, Wu played the role of Orus in "Marco Polo" and he is one of the characters who unfortunately passed away before the end of season 2. While Wu may no longer return for "Marco Polo" season 3, there could be a cryptic meaning behind Fusco's post.

As for the hashtag, it is unclear what exactly Fusco is writing about and if he is really working on the script and other paperwork needed for "Marco Polo" season 3, but since he has been constantly posting about the show on his social media account, his post could also be hinting something about the franchise's highly anticipated comeback.

Meanwhile, recent reports are pointing to a potential comeback for Benedict Wong if ever Netflix gives "Marco Polo" another shot. However, he has a lot of projects lined up for next year and this has led to speculations that he may only be returning to the series as a guest star and will no longer be able to play the great Kublai Khan.

Wong is seeing the peak of his career these days, and with the entry of "Doctor Strange" into the big screens, he may yet again have additional projects lined up for the next couple of years.

Earlier reports suggested that Wong's hectic schedule has delayed production for "Marco Polo" season 3 but he has not addressed the rumors yet. Netflix is also pretty much mum about the show but the good thing is, fans are still interested in seeing new episodes by next year.
