'NBA 2K17' release date, news: Australian Boomers first international squad; Game to include league expansion feature

The "Australian Boomers" will be invading the "NBA 2K17" as the game's first international squad. 

The announcement was made during a press release from 2K Games and Basketball Australia. It was learned that The Boomers is set to join Team USA as two initial non-NBA teams in the next Visual Concepts game. It is to be noted that this was previously speculated that the Olympics could factor in the game along with the names of Patty Mills and The Boomers' lineup.

The lineup of The Australian Boomers will include David Andersen, Cameron Bairstow, Aron Baynes, Ryan Broekhoff, Chris Goulding, Joe Ingles, Kevin Lisch, Damian Martin and Brock Motum. Also, the team will have cagers with the likes of Mills, Matthew Delladedova, Andrew Bogut, and Dante Exum.

In terms of cover athletes, "NBA 2K17" will be featuring Paul George of Indiana Pacers. Despite this, collectors still want to get a hold of the special "NBA 2K17 Legend Edition." The collection would be featuring the retired Kobe Bryant who will be replacing Michael Jordan in NBA 2K16 Legend Edition. Moreover, this year's edition will be infused with a purple accent courtesy of the "Lakers" while showing the "Black Mamba" in various poses.

More features are also expected to be added in the 18th installment in the "NBA 2K" franchise. These would include improvements to the MyGM and MyLeague modes. 

The 2K Sports-published NBA 2K17 is set to be released in September 2016 with versions for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Also, it will be made available in the summer via pre-order and from the "Early Tip-Off" promotion of 2K games.
