Gaming enthusiasts waiting for Nvidia's next generation graphic cards will have to continue waiting as the release of the new GTX 980 Ti appears to be delayed indefinitely due to unspecified production issues. A report from a noted PC hardware expert suggests that the new GPUs will most likely be released sometime in 2016 instead of this year.

The GTX 980 Ti looks to be the most powerful graphics card yet, and rumors suggest that the pricing may be one of the most expensive yet, as well. While the exact figures have not yet been released by Nvidia, speculation from various sources point to an estimated $800-$1000 range. No word yet on how the delays will affect the pricing, but should Nvidia decide to add new features, expect a corresponding increase in price.

As with the price, the actual technical specifications of the card has also not been fully released. An article at Game Debate has provided a technical analysis based on rumored specs released online. According to the alleged leaks, the following features will be included: DirectX 12.0 support (11.0 Hardware Default), support for SLI, VXGI, MFAA, GameStream, G-SYNC, GPU Boost 2.0, the GeForce Experience, and PhysX. Other technologies are also expected to be supported as made available.

The architecture of the card itself has specs that will enable the card to have better performance while using less power, thus becoming a more energy efficient option for gamers. This is right in line with the emphasis towards becoming a more sustainable and efficient society in today's modern world.

In addition to the 28 nm version of the new GPU, Nvidia is also rumored to be developing a 16 nm version. This new version will, of course, also be delayed as the regular version appears to have hit some snags somewhere down the line.
