Google recently released the Nexus 6P and it was quickly hailed as one of the best Android smartphones in the market. Here is how Google's latest offering compares to the cheap but snazzy looking OnePlus X.

Design

In the design category the Nexus 6P holds all the cards as it has a full metal body and curved corners which give it a premium look and feel, along with a fingerprint scanner on its back panel. However, there is one drawback in the form of a glass panel on the back of the device, which covers the camera and protrudes from body. As for colors, there are three options frost, aluminum and graphite. Coming to the OnePlus X it has a luxurious feel to it thanks to its metal frame that has stripes cut into it. As for the back panel it is either covered with glass in the Onyx version while the other comes with ceramic. However, there is only one color option black and there is no fingerprint scanner on the device.

Display

Here the Nexus 6P is ahead as it has a bigger and better AMOLED screen measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 518 pixels per inch. As for the OnePlus X it has an AMOLED screen measuring 5.0 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 441 pixels per inch, and Engadget states that it "suffers in this department" as the colors are not reproduced well.

Specs

Again in terms of hardware, the Nexus 6P has an unbeatable lead as it has the Snapdragon 810 chipset on board coupled with an octa-core CPU and an Adreno 430 GPU. Coming to the OnePlus X it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, coupled with a CPU with four cores and an Adreno 330 GPU.

Memory

When it comes to memory slots, it is missing on the Nexus 6P and so external storage cannot be added while the OnePlus X has a version that can be used to add up to 128 GB. Coming to RAM, these devices are similar with 3 GB each.

Camera

Comparing camera quality the 12 megapixel version on the Nexus 6P is ranked third in the DxOMark listing and it outranks the OnePlus X which has a 13 megapixel version.

Price

The OnePlus X is a much cheaper device and its Onyx version costs $250 unlocked, while the Huawei Nexus 6P costs $500 unlocked.
