The arrival of Nintendo Switch is just right around the corner, but the list of games and updates for the Nintendo's next console system from third-party developers is expected to grow in the coming months.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Nintendo's Deputy Manager of Entertainment Planning and Development Yoshiaki Koizumi revealed that the Japanese video game company made sure that they give adequate support for the third-party game developers even if they prioritize their in-house games.

"I think a lot of it comes down to the development environment we're providing — because these are third-party providers that are bringing games to Nintendo hardware, we want to do everything we can to make that experience comfortable for them including providing support for Unity or Unreal 4, which are platforms a lot of people are already using," Koizumi stated in the interview.

He used the upcoming puzzle game Snipperclips from the London-based indie game developer SFB Games as an example. According to Koizumi, the game developer used Unity to finish the game faster.

Meanwhile, "Legend of Zelda" game franchise producer Eiji Aonuma told Game Informer that there is a big chance to see 2D handheld games like "The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds" game played on Nintendo Switch in the future.

According to the game producer, they have no plans of dissolving the franchise's handheld development team, despite the arrival of the Nintendo Switch since game development for Nintendo 3DS will still continue.

"The 3DS team and the Wii U team have different approaches to game development, so I don't necessarily want to combine them and have them think together, but rather have each think about what they can bring to Nintendo Switch from their own perspective," Aonuma stated in an interview with Game Informer.

Meanwhile, reports also reveal that Aonuma talked about the release of two DLCs for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" after the game comes out together with the Nintendo Switch console on March 3, Friday.
