Anime series "One-Punch Man" is based on the manga created by author One and the illustrated adaptation by Yusuke Murata. The recently concluded first season of the anime series was well-received due to its impressive graphics and storyline.

Just a few months after its release, "One-Punch Man" is regarded as one of the best anime series in recent times. The source manga, as well, has obtained considerable success, with over 7.9 million copies sold since its release.

With that in mind, it is unsurprising that viewers are already eagerly anticipating the arrival of the anime's second season.

According to Anime Corner, Murata tweeted last December promising fans that he would work hard to make season 2 possible. However, since then, no additional updates have been made. Given the big undertaking of working on an animation series, it is likely viewers will have to wait for a period of time before the release of season 2.

Spoilers from Cross Map indicate that season 2 will pick up right after the events of the season 1 finale. The first episode of season 2 will be titled "The Strongest Hero." In the episode, Lord Boros has gained regenerative abilities that have allowed him to counteract Saitama's powerful punches. However, Saitama will once again be victorious as he unleashes his most powerful punch called "Serious Punch."

It is also rumored that a new villain will appear in the form of Amai Mask. The soon-to-be introduced villain was formerly a hero but decided to join the dark side. He is set to exact revenge towards Class S heroes for what he believes to be their hand at the destruction of the city.

Season 2 of "One-Punch Man" has yet to gain an official release date. The anime series is rumored to return sometime during the fourth quarter of 2016, possibly by December. Stay tuned for all the latest news and updates.
