A new "Pokémon" series titled "Pokémon Generations" is coming Friday, Sept. 16.

A series of short animated episodes is going to start airing on the official Pokémon YouTube channel on Friday, Sept. 16, VG247 reported. Two "Pokémon Generations" episodes, each running for about three to five minutes, are scheduled to be released on that day.

"Pokémon Generations" will feature each generation of past "Pokémon" game titles, bringing attention to the history of the long-running franchise. According to VentureBeat, each episode will highlight memorable characters and events from the games.

As of now, there are six generations of Pokémon. The seventh is coming soon when "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" are released on Nov. 18.

A trailer was released a few days prior, featuring the character Red. This might be bad news to Pikachu's trainer Ash Ketchum but something welcome to fans of the original trainer from the first video game titles, RocketNews24 noted.

The 1-minute teaser also featured iconic events from "Pokémon Silver and Gold" and "Pokémon Diamond and Pearl."

At the time of writing, the trailer with over two million views is not available anymore on the channel.

"Pokémon Generations" will have a total of 18 episodes that will be released until Dec. 23. The first two episodes will drop at 12 p.m. ET or 5 p.m. BST.

In other "Pokémon" news, more Ultra Beasts have been revealed to be coming to "Pokémon Sun and Moon," IGN reported. The Pokémon Company announced UB-02 Absorption and Beauty, which are exclusive to "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" respectively.

"Its entire body is covered with bulging, powerful muscles," says the announcement, referring to Absorption.

On the other hand, Beauty has "narrow, graceful legs" that "allow it to accelerate with such explosive speed that people claim it can dodge lightning!"

These Ultra Beasts are in addition to the previously announced UB-01.
