'Pokemon GO' spring event news: Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos coming this spring

Niantic ended 2016 with a massive update for its popular augmented reality mobile game "Pokémon GO." The game developers have a lot of updates prepared for this year as well, one of which is the spring event, reports say.

According to reports, the studio might be adding the next batch of Legendary Pokémon this spring. Reports say that spring is the optimal time to launch the creatures because it is the best time for players to go outside to catch Pokémon. Spring, which also connotes life and growth, can also be meaningful for the forthcoming update.

It is to be noted that Niantic's most recent event had a prominent theme, which was Christmas. Last month, players were able to catch Pokémon with festive Santa hats for a limited time.

Hence, many believe that spring is the next best season to launch an event. Reports say that three Legendary Pokémon, all of which are birds, will be arriving next season. Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos will reportedly arrive just in time to see the flowers bloom.

Other sources also believe that the arrival of the three Legendary Pokemon will usher in the spring season in the augmented reality game.

The update is reportedly underway. Many players have noticed the decreasing number of hatched Pikachus, Electabuzzes, and more. A recent "Pokemon GO" study conducted by The Silph Road reveals that since Dec. 12, players have been unable to hatch any regional Pokemon and an evolved form of a baby Pokemon. Reports say that this indicates that Niantic is already preparing for future Pokémon evolutions.

The latest reports have yet to be confirmed by the game developers, so gamers should treat the claims as speculation until proven otherwise.

More updates are expected to roll out in the weeks to come.
