"There are so many ways to revisit characters and worlds," King told the media at the Television Critics Association (TCA) winter press tour. "It wasn't easy to say goodbye to this group of people but I kept saying, 'We'll find a way to bring these characters and this world back at some point in time.' I don't think it'll be in two years, but at some point in time."

King is certainly confident about a revival. Although she warned that viewers shouldn't be expecting it to happen anytime soon, King seemed determine to find a way to bring back the series. When Entertainment Weekly further pried about the revival, King only had to say that their optimism for a comeback made the goodbyes a lot easier.

"We would just say, 'See you in 10 years,' so I felt like there was that optimism of it's never really over," she admitted.

At the event, King also teased a few important details about the episodes to come. According to the showrunner, fans should expect a one-year time jump, and that fans should expect to see one episode to feature a musical number.

Meanwhile, Shay Mitchell, who portrays Emily on the series, recently teased who her character will end up with in the remaining 10 episodes. She didn't reveal a name, but she said that her character is going to end up with someone she truly cares for. The actress teased that season 7 will be the most romantic season in the entire series.

"Pretty Little Liars" season 7, with its final 10 episodes, returns on April 18, Tuesday, at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
