The second season of "Quantico" promises more shocking and explosive stories as it has been confirmed that Blair Underwood of "Dirty Sexy Money" will be joining the cast as a series regular.

According to TV Line, Underwood will play the role of Owen Hall, a "charming and direct" CIA officer who is also very intelligent and is an inspiration to many underlings. The outlet adds that Owen is someone that his subordinates would want to learn and hear advice from.

Despite Owen's amazing personality, there could be a twist to his character as it has been revealed that he might be enjoying the best of two different worlds: a leader or a user. It would be interesting to see how the writers will put color into Owen's mysterious side and if he will turn out to be the person fans and his subordinates never expected him to be.

Executive producer Joshua Safran teased on what fans should expect of the new cast member. "Blair is the kind of actor you dream of writing for. Be it romantic comedy, dark drama, or high-octane thriller - there is nothing he can't do. We look forward to creating a role that will showcase his huge range and boundless drama," Safran said, via the same source.

The star recently shared his excitement on Twitter, announcing that he will indeed be part of the "Quantico" family.

Underwood isn't the only new addition to the star-studded cast. Last month, "Quantico" acquired Russell Tovey, who is known for his performance in "Looking."

According to The Hollywood Reporter's account early last month, Safran has been wanting to work with the actor for quite some time. He met Tovey ten years back and since then has been dreaming of working with him.

Safran explained that Tovey's role has been created specifically for the actor. According to HOF Mag, Tovey will play Harry Doyle, a mysterious new name who has yet to peel his layers when the new episodes arrive.

Harry's exact role and the extent of his involvement with Priyanka Chopra's Alex Parrish has yet to be seen but fans are excited to have him on board.

"Quantico" season two is slated for premiere on September 25, 2016, Sunday, on ABC.
