Following the success of its second season, "Rick and Morty" had been confirmed to get a third one with Adult Swim, but it will take a year and a half or so before a premiere is going to be aired on TV. This is based on the post-credits sequence of the season 2 finale when Mr. Poopy Butthole promises viewers the show will be back in "a year and a half, or more!"

Show creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have not given away anything big yet for the third season of the critically acclaimed "Rick and Morty," but their tidbits of interviews still give some juicy stuff for avid fans to drink on.

In an interview with Den of Geek, Harmon reassured avid viewers that season 3 will have something different to offer. "I don't think anybody wants to do a third season that simply spends a whole bunch of episodes dealing with a situation that we created at the end of the second season," he said.

When asked, though, if they have fixed all the problems at the end of the second season, especially Rick's fate, Harmon did not spill a single bean, saying that he'll keep everyone posted in the form of their cartoon.

Meanwhile, storylines from earlier in the show and old characters may get a comeback. During the Comic Con in July last year, Roiland noted, "We've got a lot of little loose sweater threads we've sprinkled throughout [seasons] one and two that we're going to come back and tie in a nice little bow in subsequent seasons."

This has made fans talking. The characters they speculate to see in the upcoming season include mysterious Evil Eyepatch Morty, Mr. Meeseeks, and Snuffles/Snowball from the Dog World.

Whichever of these speculations are true, fans will have to watch out for more updates.
