Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date specs rumors: Curved phablet may land in Q3 2015

Even as Samsung is preparing to release the Galaxy S6, all eyes are now on the company's upcoming phablet, Galaxy Note 5. The Galaxy Note 4 released in 2014 was a very successful device for Samsung and it is only natural for the company to soon come out with a successor.

Based on earlier rumors, the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to sport a 5.9 inch 4K Super AMOLED screen protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor or Exynos 7420 SoC processor along with 4GB RAM. The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to come packed with 32/64 internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card, and feature an 18MP camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 7MP front camera. Since the high-powered display in the Galaxy Note 5 will consume most of the power in its battery, the phablet is more likely to be powered by a bigger and powerful 4000 mAH battery, which can provide as much as 20 percent more power.

Other rumored features in the Galaxy Note 5 are retina scanner, fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, scratch and dust resistant, water resistant, and heart rate monitor. Samsung's executive vice president Roh Tae-moon had earlier indicated that all Note devices could come with a curved display similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge. This means that the Galaxy Note 5 could also feature a curved display. Samsung has made huge improvements to its S-Pen stylus with each new generation of the Galaxy Note, and the Galaxy Note 5 is also expected to come with an improved stylus.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 5 in September, as its predecessor would complete a circle of one year in the market by then.
