Samsung Galaxy Note 8 news: More details about the phone revealed

(Twitter/Samsung Mobile)Samsung is aiming to regain the market's trust with its upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which will feature artificial intelligence technology among others.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be equipped with an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant similar to Siri.

Samsung aims to gain the public's trust with its upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 after the controversy that Samsung Galaxy Note 7 figured in. The said phone model has been taken out of the market after multiple reports of exploding batteries and phone owners have been encouraged to trade their units or get the full refund.

While Samsung vice chairman Lee Jae-yong admits it will not be easy to regain their customers' trust or to let the market in general forget the glitch, the company's vice president Lee Kyeong-tae said that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will have a "slick design, and improved camera as well as enhanced artificial intelligence."

The Wall Street Journal further reports that the internal prototypes of the upcoming phone include a button on the side edge that will be used to launch the AI feature. The AI is where Samsung is said to be building its comeback since the company's rivals, such as Apple's Siri, have already evolved the use of the technology to placing orders and getting taxi rides among others.

Reports have surfaced that the model number for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in development is SM-N950. The Galaxy Note 7 previously had a manufacturing code of SM-N920 and previous Galaxy Note models worked under the SM-N9 series.

It remains to be seen what other measures Samsung will result to in gaining back the market's trust. In South Korea, it was announced that units exchanged for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be able to avail of the program where they can get the upcoming phone for 50% off.

Victims of battery explotions are being given financial aid as well. If the offer will reach other countries remains to be seen. More details about the phone are expected to be shared in the coming months.
