Samsung has just recently unveiled its 2016 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7 Edge, and fans revealed that they are satisfied with the device. But it becomes a different story when it's placed side by side with Apple's iPhone 6s Plus. According to a report by BGR, the South Korean device came out inferior in terms of speed and performance after it was tested against the Cupertino-made mobile.

The testing was done by YouTube user and tech enthusiast Jerome Ortega. The results showed that even though the Galaxy S7 Edge comes with high-end specs, the Apple rival still wins by 17 seconds to spare in the test cycle. The iPhone 6s Plus completed two rounds of opening and closing all of the test applications within 1 minute and 42 seconds, while the Galaxy S7 Edge completed the task in precisely 2 minutes.

The Galaxy S7 Edge competed with a Quad HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, and 4 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the iPhone 6s Plus carried a 2 GB of RAM and a dual-core A9 chip. However, there are several other factors to consider when evaluating how a device performs.

As for the other specs and features, Gizmag detailed that the Samsung variant's size is 151 mm x 73 mm x 7.7 mm, while the Apple variant dimension is 158 mm x 78 mm x 73 mm. The former weighs less than the latter with weights mounting to 157 g and 192 g, respectively. One similar spec of the two is their display size, which is 5.5 inches. The pixels resolution differ though with the Galaxy S7 Edge coming with 2560 x 1440 and iPhone 6s Plus with 1920 x 1080.

The camera specs of the two are also the same. Both are equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. The battery capacity in the Galaxy S7 Edge is 3,600 mAh, while the iPhone 6s Plus is powered with 2,2750 mAh. The Edge device has a fast-charging feature that is missing in the Plus device, but both have fingerprint sensors.

In terms of the price, the iPhone 6s Plus is cheaper by $41 as its starting price is $749, while the Galaxy S7 Edge costs about $790.
