'Sense8' season 2 air date, news, rumors: new episodes coming January?

(Facebook/Sense8)Will the second and succeeding episodes of "Sense8" season 2 arrive January 2017?

Fans of the hit Netflix series "Sense8" are preparing for the release of the second season as recent reports point to an early 2017 release of new episodes.

Earlier this year, actress Jamie Clayton, who plays Nomi Marks on the series, revealed that the first episode of "Sense8" season 2 will premiere sometime Christmas while the rest of the episodes will be aired around 2017.

Though Clayton did not give an official date for the release of the remaining episodes, it is widely speculated that they will arrive around January 2017. Production has not confirmed the reports but since filming has wrapped up last month, it's safe to assume that a January 2017 release for the second and succeeding episodes is highly possible.

Meanwhile, a Reddit user leaked what could be 11 pages of the script for "Sense8" season 2, though it is unclear if the documents are legitimate at all. However, the documents did reveal that there will be a new character who will join the sensates. Not much has been revealed about the said character so fans should wait for further announcements.

On the other hand, the alleged season 2 confirms the return of the following characters: Teagan (Annie Munch), Nomi, Diego (Ness Bautista), and Riley (Tuppence Middleton).

Based on the show's official Instagram page, Bae Doona's Sun, Max Riemelt's Wolgang, and Toby Onwumere's Capheus will all be in the upcoming installment.

Late last month, Clayton responded to actress Laverne Cox's response to a fan who asked if the latter is watching "Sense8." Cox said: "Of course. Love it. Can't wait for season 2." Clayton, on the other hand, hinted that Netflix will be airing something probably in the next few months. "Thank you! SOON! XXOOXXOO #sense8," the actress said.

Since Netflix and the showrunner has remained mum about the exact release date of the new episodes, fans can only rely on Clayton's previous statements that the first episode will arrive during the holidays while the succeeding ones will come sometime next year.
