"Silicon Valley" season 2 left off on a particularly shocking note, revealing that Richard (Thomas Middleditch) had been removed as CEO from Pied Piper—his own company. Fans are now left wondering what the new season will bring and what will happen to their favorite group of programmers.

A trailer has been released by the show's network, HBO, and it offers up a glimpse into the upcoming season. Season 3 will apparently pick up right from where the previous season left off, with Richard confronting the Raviga team about the recent move. Monica (Amanda Crew) reveals to Richard that Laurie (Suzanne Cryer) has already hired someone to replace him as CEO of Pied Piper—Jack Barker, played by television veteran Stephen Tobolowsky. After a series of "old" jokes thrown by Erlich (T.J. Miller), different scenes are intercut into the video, including a party, Gavin (Matt Ross) consulting with his spiritual advisor and what looks like a new coder added to the Pied Piper team. Big Head (Josh Brener) is also seen having a good time with the team, which might indicate that he is back onboard.

Meanwhile, here is a recap of what happened in the previous season's finale.

The Pied Piper team worked like never before as they attempted to keep a live stream of an injured man stuck in a ravine running. After BuzzFeed linked to the video and a tweet by Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, viewer numbers rose. The team did everything they could to keep the feed up without sacrificing quality—from punching a hole through the wall to accommodate wires to Erlich coding for the first time since he got carpal tunnel syndrome.

Erlich had considered selling the house, but an inspirational speech from Donald a.k.a. Jared (Zach Woods) made him abandon the idea.

Things seemed bleak for Richard and his team as everything had pointed towards Hooli winning both the case and ownership of the Pied Piper algorithm. But in a surprise turn of events, the judge had ruled in favor of Pied Piper after discovering an illegal clause in their employment contract which deemed the entire agreement invalid. A furious Gavin feared for his fate as he entered Hooli's board meeting. Richard, who had almost given up, rushed back home.

Their celebration is cut short when Monica calls Richard to inform him that Laurie had bought out Russ's (Chris Diamantopoulos) stake of Pied Piper, which resulted in Raviga securing three board seats against Richard's two. He then dejectedly tells everyone that he has been voted out of his position as CEO.

"Silicon Valley" season 3 premieres Sunday, April 24 on HBO.
