It might appear that the recently released Sony Xperia Z5 Premium will only face competition from devices of the same size, but it is already clear that the much smaller iPhone 6s is going to be a major competitor. Here is how these two devices fare in a comparison.

Design

When it comes to design, the iPhone 6s is currently considered to be one of the best smartphones in the market as it has a metal body with 7000 series aluminum,which reduces the possibility of the device bending. It has rounded edges and a fingerprint scanner incorporated into its home button and as for colors, there are four options: gold, silver, gray, and rose gold. The most important feature of the Xperia Z5 Premium is its 4K display; but otherwise, the device has the traditional metal and glass construction favored by Sony. The display of the Xperia Z5 Premium has better quality and it is much bigger. The IPS LCD screen measures 5.5 inches with a resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels and a density of 806 pixels per inch. As for the iPhone 6s it has IPS LCD screen measuring 4.7 inches with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and density of 326 pixels per inch.

Specs

Comparing specs, Xperia Z5 Premium has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, along with an octa-core CPU and an Adreno 430 GPU while the iPhone 6s has a faster Apple A9 chipset coupled with a dual core CPU clocked at 1.84 GHz and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU.

Memory

The memory slot on the Xperia Z5 Premium allows for the addition of up to 200 GB of external storage, while the iPhone 6s does not have slot and so storage cannot be tacked on. Comparing RAM, the iPhone 6s has 2 GB and its rival has 3 GB.

Camera

At the rear of the iPhone 6s is a 12 megapixel camera while the Sony Xperia Z5 has a much better 23 megapixel version.

Here, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium lags as it is much costlier and priced at $910 unlocked, while the iPhone 6s costs $199 with a two year contract.
