Since last year's iPhone 6 Plus performed really well in terms of sales, there is no doubt that the recently released iPhone 6s Plus will follow its success and become a blockbuster hit for Apple. But before it dominates the market, it has to take on other flagship devices, like the Xperia Z5 Premium Sony, which also upped their game. Here is how these two devices compare.

Design

In terms of design, iPhone 6s Plus is ahead as it has a metal unibody that is made from 7000 series aluminum, which prevents it from bending easily. It comes with a fingerprint scanner and comes in four colors, rose gold, gold, silver and space gray. The Xperia Z5 Premium is almost the same size as the iPhone 6s Plus but only its frame is made of metal, as its front and back are covered with polished glass. The metal frame also has a layer of nylon on its corners and its redesigned large power button on its side now has a fingerprint scanner incorporated into it. As for its colors, the device has three options, black, chrome and gold. It is also waterproof, as it comes with an IP68 rating, which means it can remain submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes.

Display

In terms of display quality, there is no way the iPhone 6s Plus can keep up with its competitor as the Xperia Z5 Premium has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels and a density of 806 pixels per inch. Als, its 4k screen has Triluminos technology that improves colors and the X-Reality Engine which upscales low resolution videos and photos. As for the device from Apple, it has a similar sized 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a lower resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch. It also has 3D Touch on board, which can offer various options to the user depending on how hard or light the user is pressing.

Specs

The Xperia Z5 Premium has the very best hardware as it comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, along with an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU. In the iPhone 6s Plus is an Apple A9 chipset, coupled with a dual core CPU clocked at 2 GHz.

Memory

The iPhone 6s Plus has no memory slot, therefore additional storage cannot be added. The Xperia Z5, on the other hand, has a slot which can support up to 200 GB. As for their RAM, the iPhone 6s Plus might come with 2 GB, though nothing has been confirmed. Its competitor has 3 GB on board.

Camera

The 23-megapixel camera on the Xperia Z5 Premium can record 4K videos and it has an extremely fast autofocus of 0.03 seconds. Its competitor has a 12 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization.

Battery

The 3430 mAh battery on the Xperia Z5 Premium can last for about two days while the iPhone 6s Plus has a much smaller 2915 mAh battery, which can last for a day.
