'Supernatural' Season 11 Spoilers: Padalecki will be back; but will things be worse for the boys?

(CW/TVLine)

Season 10 of "Supernatural" had a fantastic finale. The Mark of Cain has been finally removed from Dean, and he did not kill Sam. Killing his brother was what Dean needed to do to ensure the Darkness within the Mark will never be released and after killing Sam, Dean needed to go away, never to be found—mimicking what happened between the biblical brothers Cain and Abel, where the Mark itself originated. Instead, the brothers apparently killed Death. Rowena, the witch, removed the Mark from Dean and cursed Castiel to kill Crowley. With the Mark un-transferred, as it should have been, the ancient Darkness was unleashed on Earth. This sets the stage for Season 11 and there are speculations that the overall theme of the new season will be Hell on Earth.

According to Death, releasing the Darkness meant something catastrophic will happen not only to Earth, but to the entire universe. Are we in for an apocalyptic Season 11? One thing is for sure, the brothers Winchester will be in for the fight of their lives. And with speculations that Jared Padalecki (Sam) and Jensen Ackles (Dean) have not yet formally signed on for Season 12, Season 11 might be a big, colossal climax of the series with the brothers fighting to the death, and even after in order to defeat the Darkness or re-trap it.

As cast member Jeremy Carver said in a new trailer, "For the boys, things are going from bad to worse."

There were initial speculations that Padalecki might not be part of Season 11, but this was quickly debunked. His rep said, according to Enstars, that Padalecki just needed some time off to be with his family, and that was the reason he had been missing at conventions and events that he usually attended. Padalecki is said to be excited to go back to start shooting the new season this July.

CW President, Mark Pedrowitz, also said that Season 11 will not be the last season for the show.

"I'm a big believer and a big fan of the show, and as long as the ratings hold and as long as the boys want to do it, we'll do it," Pedrowitz, said according to VC Post.

"Supernatural" Season 11 is scheduled to air in the fall.
