'Tekken 7: Fated Retribution' news: Arcade version rumored for a summer 2016 release; more details on gameplay and new characters

"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution," Namco Bandai's update to popular and beloved arcade game "Tekken 7," is highly anticipated by fans. Since commencing location tests in Japan last February, the arcade game is finally expected to launch this summer. However, the console version of the game may be released during the fourth quarter of 2016 or the first quarter of 2017.

While the game's release date is still uncertain, Bandai Namco has been slowly revealing details for the upcoming fighting video game. The recently released arcade trailer for "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" gives players a sense of what to expect when the game is released. In the trailer, fans of the "Tekken" franchise will be able to see new gameplay elements and new charactters.

"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will feature an updated Rage Mode, specifically with the new Rage Attack and Rage Arts features.

The upcoming fighting game will also feature the addition of several new characters including Shaheen, Lucky Chloe, Jack-7, Josie Rizal, among many others. Nina Williams is also revealed to be returning.

There will also be one crossover character. Akuma, the half-man and half-demon character from "Street Fighter," will be added as a playable character. Akuma will be one of the more powerful players in the game. His abilities and techniques are previewed in a gameplay video featuring a battle with Dragunov.

Characters from "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will be customizable.

According to Forbes, the upcoming game will also have an online multiplayer mode. With the arcade game, players are always playing with another opponent beside them. When the game is released for the console, the introduction of online multiplayer mode, will allow players to find sparring partners even in the comfort of their own homes. Forbes also added that the "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" also has plans to support the PlayStation VR.

"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will be released for the PlayStation 4, however, no release date has been identified.
