'The 100' season 4 spoilers: The Earth serves as the 'ark' for the survivors

(The 100 / Facebook)"The 100" season 4 returns in midseason of 2017.

Fans of The CW's post-apocalyptic science fiction drama "The 100" may have to wait a little longer before it returns for a fourth season. Fortunately, the show's recent panel at the Comic-Con International 2016 unveiled good amount of teasers.

The first good news that surprised fans during the Comic-Con was the promotion of actor Zach McGowan as series regular. His role, Roan, was introduced last season as the son of the late Ice Queen Nia (Brenda Strong).

According to Variety, at the convention, executive producer Jason Rothenberg assured fans that the Earth will strike back in season 4 and it will serve as the "ark" of the survivors. Meanwhile, Clarke (Eliza Taylor) is still determined to fight until her death just to save everyone. However, not everyone shares the same sentiment about the end of the world because some no longer want to fight.

There is also a need to fill for the leadership seat among the Sky People. Rothenberg revealed that more of it will be seen in the premiere episode of season 4. He added that Clarke knows the power she possesses and she worked hard for it after previously saving the world. She is not the only person who knows her capabilities as well; Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) and Abby are well aware of her leadership and how special she is.

As for Raven, who drastically changed last season, actress Lindsey Morgan, who plays the role, revealed that he is no longer the same Raven.

Morgan said, "She got the A.L.I.E. upgrade, so she's definitely a Raven 2.0, but it's even better than that. She went through an evolution. She's not only stronger [because of the knowledge A.L.I.E. left behind], but emotionally and spiritually, she's been to hell and back. She didn't die, so she's a totally different Raven on a totally different level ready to take on the biggest enemy yet."

"The 100" season 4 returns in midseason of 2017.
