Barry (Grant Gustin) may end up breaking Iris' (Candice Patton) heart in the upcoming season of "The Flash."

Since the entire timeline was erased by the red speedster when he chose to travel in time to save his mother, no one knows for sure what will happen in the new installment. Team Flash saw Barry disappear in front of their eyes. It may even turn out that he will not become a superhero and will live as an ordinary teen with his parents. Iris' brave confession to Barry that she loves him may not even happen.

Gustin previously assured the fans that things would turn out all right for the pair.

"Barry knows that talk and that kiss happened no matter what. (one of the most beautiful - comic book like shots ever)," he tweeted.

Although the speedster told Iris he needed time to grieve for his father, the promise of a mutual love was palpable in their actions. She only needs to wait for him to come around. Iris told Barry she would wait for him no matter what.

New spoilers, however, posit that Barry will fall in love with another woman in season 3. According to GameNGuide, his new love interest is Jesse Quick (Violett Beane), who is the daughter of Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and goes by the name of Jesse Wells in Earth-2.

Meanwhile, Danielle Panabaker, who plays Caitlin in the series, recently said in an interview that the cast also does not know what will happen to Barry and the others in the new season. She also shared that her character's backstory would hopefully be shown, especially her connection with her mother.

"I'm excited. I can't wait to see what happens with season 3 and where that means everyone is. Season 1 Barry disappeared in front of our eyes at the end of season 2, which was crazy...I don't know what that means for season 3. Do these people even know each other at all? What does that look like? It's going to be crazy. ... I would like to learn more about Caitlin's family. Particularly her mom," she said.

"The Flash" season 3 will air this fall on the CW.
