The highly anticipated, popular anime "The Seven Deadly Sins" is coming to Netflix very soon with a four-episode mini-series.

The streaming media server has listed the second season of the renowned Japanese series to release on Feb. 17. Netflix has acquired the exclusive rights to the fantasy manga anime, even releasing the first season with English dubs and subtitles on its library. It has been tagged as one of the few exclusively licensed anime series on the website.

The listing momentarily made the fans feel giddy until they realized that the upcoming release has been allegedly mislabeled by Netflix. The anime series tagged as the second season on the entertainment company's platform is not the real sequel. Rather, it is a "bridging season" that will make the anime in-sync with the plot of the manga.

The acclaimed shonen series, comprised of four episodes that take place between the full seasons, is labeled "Signs of Holy War," and has been out for quite some time in Japan. Mini-series offerings are common in Japanese anime to ensure continuity and maintain familiarity even with the transition to the succeeding season.

"The Seven Deadly Sins" is a Japanese fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki. Set in the European Middle Ages, it follows the story of the third Princess Elizabeth's journey in search of the Sacred Knights who disbanded after they conspired to take over the Liones Kingdom to assist her in taking back the empire from the Holy Knights of Britannia.

There has been little information about the storyline of "The Seven Deadly Sins" season 2. However, the story will focus on the elderly, bearded character named Escanor, who possesses a dual-personality that changes depending on the solar cycle.

"Signs of Holy War" is exclusively available for streaming on Netflix starting on Feb. 17. Although the second season of "The Seven Deadly Sins" has been formally announced to release in 2017, there is still no premiere date as of the moment.
