'Tokyo Ghoul' season 3 rumors: Insufficient materials reason for anime's delay

(Facebook/Tokyo Ghoul)It is said that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will arrive within the first quarter of 2017.

While there is no denying that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is one of the most anticipated anime series ever, fans can't help but wonder when it will really arrive. However, it has been learned that the culprit for the delayed arrival of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is the lack of source materials where its episodes will be based.

According to the latest reports, "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 already has 12 episodes in the can. However, it is said that the producers are worried that the series may experience some problems with the continuity of the story once it ends without extra episodes on hand. Hence, rather than releasing the series incomplete, allegedly, it has been decided to put the release of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 on hold for now.

To recall, "Tokyo Ghoul" season 2 was highly criticized by the fans because it deviated from the events in its manga counterpart. In fact, fans even came up with a petition to have the anime series rebooted by another studio as they were disappointed with how the second season of the anime series was handled.

Now that it is alleged that Pierrot Studio has handed over the rights of "Tokyo Ghoul" to Madhouse Entertainment to make the anime series, the latter must be wary that it might make the same mistake the former made. Hence, the decision to delay the release of the series rather than disappoint the fans once more by releasing a story the fans have not hoped to see.

Meanwhile, it is also said that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will feature Ken Kaneki assuming a new identity, Haise Sasaki. Reportedly, Ken Kaneki did not really die in his battle with Arima in the season 2 finale of the series; instead, he just lost his memory. However, it is said that he will eventually recover from his amnesia and realize who he really is.

Although there is no official announcement yet, it is speculated that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will arrive within the first quarter of 2017.
