The third season of the popular anime "Tokyo Ghoul" will feature several changes from the previous seasons of the series.

For the main plot, it is believed that the Ken Kaneki will be reincarnated to become Haise Sasaki. This has been speculated upon since they have almost similar features, such black and white hair.

Ken Kaneki was killed by the reaper Arima Kishou after the Kakuja was not able to help him. It can be recalled that Haise Sasaki is now not capable of recalling any of his memories, suggesting that he might have known pieces of secret information that he should not reveal.

However, some believe that Haise Sasaki is actually Ken Kaneki who disguised himself to join the CCG investigators as a part of the Quinx Squad.

Others believed that Arima Kishou never killed Ken Kaneki, and instead, actually took him to the Commission of Counter Ghoul and provided him with a new identity. It may be connected to theories emerging that Ken Kaneki might be the successor to Arima Kishou as the next One-Eyed King

On the other hand, some reports and theories point out to Touka Kirishima as the new protagonist and focus of the series. The story will revolve around her review period in preparation for entering the college.

Other than the plot for the next season, many fans have been waiting for any update regarding the anime adaptation's third season. Recently, comments by Kevin Hamric, Viz Media's senior director of sales and marketing, to ICV2 made fans speculate that the anime will have a 2017 comeback.

It was later on debunked by Viz Media itself, releasing a statement that the production of the popular series is currently not ongoing. There were reports of lack of manpower as the reason for the delay since many of the members of the original team was transferred to the other projects.
