'Wentworth' season 5 updates: Bea Smith's death irreversible

(Facebook/Danielle Cormack)Rumors claim that Bea Smith will still be part of "Wentworth" season 5 despite her death in the previous season.

While there are some fans who believe that the upcoming season 5 of "Wentworth" will still feature Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack) being alive, the latest reports claim that the character's death in the season 4 finale of the Australian TV series is irreversible.

"Wentworth" fans went berserk when the season 4 finale episode of the series featured Bea Smith dying in the hands of Joan "The Freak" Ferguson (Pamela Rabe) after the latter stabbed her multiple times. While it is apparent that the character already met her demise, some avid fans of the character and the show itself are still in denial and are hoping that the character may still be alive.

As no scene showing Bea Smith in a coffin or a funeral service was shown, some fans believe that the character may not really be dead and may only be in a comatose in a hospital. Hence, they expect that she will still be a part of the upcoming season 5 of "Wentworth," which is considered as the Australian version of the Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black."

However, according to reports, the death of Bea Smith is irreversible as, after all, it was no less than "Wentworth" executive producer Jo Porter who said in the past that the death of the character was a necessary move for the show so that it can usher in potential new stories and characters. Hence, despite being aware of the fact that Bea Smith is popular among the fans of the series, "Wentworth" had to kill the character.

Despite this, though, it is suspected that "Wentworth" season 5 will still feature Bea Smith. However, she may just appear in flashback scenes as, allegedly, the series will unravel the events before her death, especially how she got to keep the screwdriver that eventually caused her death.

SoHo has yet to announce the air date of "Wentworth" season 5.
