One notable "X-Men" character is now confirmed to appear in the final movie of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the third film "Wolverine 3." And it is none other Charles Xavier, played by famous English actor, Sir Patrick Stewart.

The news was confirmed when Stewart was interviewed by Collider about his potential role in the final installment in the film series.

During his interview, he confirmed that he will in fact be included in the cast. And as if that was not exciting enough, he added that he will also play a major role in the film. "I think what you say is true. There is a project in development. I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me," Stewart told Collider.

In addition, Stewart shared that he is also interested in the comic story arc of "Old Man Logan." He even jokingly commented about wanting to see Jackman wearing prosthetics to make him look much older than he is now.

"And the idea of an old Wolverine – I'm really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old. You know, damn him. He looks so great! So I'm hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he'll make me look better if that's the case," Stewart said.

Unfortunately, nothing much has been revealed about Stewart's role in the film and if fans will actually ever get to see the cinematic adaptation of the popular comic arc, "Old Man Logan."

The "Old Man Logan" arc will focus on Wolverine's future, to be precise. As explained on Huffington Post, the premise will be set 50 years into the future, where Logan will have to go to his final mission with the aged Hawkeye.

So for now, regarding the film's storyline, it will be best to keep an open mind as it is still early to jump into conclusions. "Wolverine 3" is not due to be released until March 3, 2017.
