'Girl Meets World' season 4 air date, news: Rowan Blanchard also wants a fourth season

Disney Channel has yet to renew "Girls Meets World" for season 4 and fans have taken to social media to voice their support for the show. Star Rowan Blanchard, who plays Riley, has joined in and recently took to her Twitter account to express her desire for a fourth season.
The hashtag #GirlMeetsWorldSeason4 was started online, and Blanchard chimed in saying that "Girl Meets World" is a "voice of hope/change" for young people.
So important 4 our gen to be a voice of hope/change & learn from each other. Hoping we continue to have that chance #GirlMeetsWorldSeason4

She then retweeted an article consisting of reasons why the show should be renewed for a fourth season and encouraged her fans to watch the series to show their support.
Disney's silence on the issue has only managed to concern fans regarding the show's future. Petitions have even been started and signed, but the network has still remained mum on the renewal.
Some fans think that the show would be better off finding a home elsewhere since the story is progressing into more mature territory. Riley and Maya are starting high school, the stage in real life where topics like sex, drugs, and alcohol are discussed. Given the content, fans believe that "Girl Meets World" may be more suited for Freeform or even Netflix.
It was previously reported that Blanchard does not know what the future will hold for the "Boy Meets World" spin-off, but that she has a backup plan in case the show does not get the green light for a fourth season. The young actress is mulling over becoming an author and writing her own book.
"I found myself not being able to put something in my diary without thinking, 'Maybe if this is good enough, I'll publish it,'" she said.
Filming for season 3 has already concluded, but there will still be episodes airing well into early 2017. Disney still has time to consider renewing the series and satisfying fans everywhere.
