As metal-bodied smartphones have been increasing in popularity, the LG G5 and the iPhone SE have turned into competitors even though they are of different sizes. This is how the modular LG G5 compares to the 4-inch iPhone.

Design

The iPhone SE follows the styling that Apple uses currently on its smartphone lineup, and so it comes with a metal unibody. Its corners are rounded and there are antenna lines on its back panel. The fingerprint scanner, like other iPhones, is located in the home button, and in terms of color, it comes in gray, silver, rose gold, and gold. As for the LG G5, it, too, has a premium metal body but there are no antenna lines at its rear and it has a Magic Slot at the bottom, which can be used to add or remove modules from the phone. Two modules are currently provided for the smartphone and one has an additional battery and controls for the dual cameras at its rear and the other has a HiFi audio player. As for the fingerprint scanner, it is positioned at the rear of the device. Color options for the LG G5 include gold, pink, silver, and titan.

Display

There is an Always-On display on the LG G5 and it is an LCD version measuring 5.3 inches, with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 554 pixels per inch. As for the iPhone SE, it has a smaller LCD display measuring 4.0 inches with a resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels and density of 326 pixels per inch.

Hardware

On board the LG G5 is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, coupled with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU. As for the iPhone SE, it comes with an equally fast Apple A9 chipset, along with a dual-core CPU and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU.

Memory

With no memory slot, there is no possibility of external storage being added to the iPhone SE. While the LG G5 has a microSD slot that supports up to 200 GB. In terms of RAM, the iPhone SE has 2 GB and the LG G5 has 4 GB.

Camera

At the rear of the LG G5 are two cameras, one is an 18-megapixel version and another is an 8-megapixel version. As for the iPhone SE, it comes with a 12-megapixel version.

Price

When comparing price, the LG G5 is costlier as without a contract it has a $624 tag, while the 16 GB iPhone SE costs $399 unlocked.
