'Boruto: Naruto Next Generations' season 1 updates: Naruto's son to take over the spotlight in new anime series

After having been featured in his own movie in 2015 and hitting the pages of the manga, Boruto, Naruto's son, is getting more exposure as an anime about him, "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations," is replacing the anime series that cast the spotlight on his father beginning this April.
There is no denying that "Naruto" is one of the most successful anime series. However, as an adage goes, all things must come to an end, and this includes "Naruto Shippuden," which already took a bow after airing its last episode last week. However, fans of Naruto himself will still get a chance to see him in an anime series as the replacement for "Naruto Shippuden," "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations," will be about his son, Boruto.
While "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" may still feature Naruto, it goes without saying that fans will see a more mature version of the character as, in the series, he will already be married to Hinata and have a son with her, Boruto. Furthermore, as the series will be about Boruto, fans cannot expect to see more of the great ninja.
It has been learned that "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" anime series will feature a teenage version of Boruto, just like what is expected to come in the next story arc of its manga counterpart via its upcoming chapter 11. To the uninitiated, "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" manga series' first story arc last month showed Boruto getting a curse mark after defeating the villain Otsutsuki Momoshiki. Because of the said curse mark, it is suspected that Boruto may even become more powerful than Naruto because his Byakugan bloodline may be awakened.
However, as it has been reported that "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" anime series will have a story of its own and will not be based on its manga counterpart, it remains to be seen whether the anime will feature Boruto's Byakugan getting awakened as well.
"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" airs its first episode on Japan's Hulu TV this April 5.
