Following weeks of auditions, "Empire" season three has finally found the perfect stars to portray the young Cookie and Lucious. Ajiona Alexus will play Cookie, while Jeremy Carver will play Lucious.

According to Deadline, Alexus' young Cookie will be seen in flashback scenes as a Catholic schoolgirl whose true desires in life won't be hidden by her religious school uniform. Carver's Lucious, on the other hand, already has a future in the music industry at a young age as he takes pride in his amazing voice.

The two souls will come together and despite Lucious' bad-boy aura, Cookie will fall for his charisma.

Aside from the flashbacks of the youngsters, it is also expected that Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) will appear in the third season as a stronger, much fiercer woman. After her fallout with Lucious (Terrence Howard) when the latter opted to tie the knot with Anika (Grace Gealey), it seems Cookie will walk her own path in the upcoming episodes.

In an interview with TV Line in May, showrunner Ilene Chaiken said she supports Cookie for walking out on Lucious in the finale of season two. "They love one another, the path was clear, and all of the sudden, yet another thing from Lucious' past and the mistakes he made got in the way. And I'm with Cookie on this one: This is it. She's done. She's finished being hurt by Lucious."

However, the poster revealed by FOX showed the two Lyons in looks fans have never seen. Though Lucious holds on to Cookie's shoulder in the poster, it appears as if Cookie's version 2.0 has other plans.

Though the image suggests that the Lyon heads have reunited, it's easy to assume that Cookie will bounce back with a vengeance that Lucious never imagined. It is also understandable that Lucious' betrayal got into Cookie's nerves for the last time since she initially thought that her on-again, off-again partner was ready to start all over with her.

How will Cookie's rise from the ruins affect Lucious' sham marriage with Anika? What about Anika? How will her pregnancy come in between the Lyons, who seemed to have underestimated her manipulation skills?

"Empire" season three will premiere on September 21 at 9 PM EST on FOX.
